I've always known that I wanted to be an artist of some kind. By the age of 8, I was already drawing my own comic books and creating my own characters. Two years later, I got my very first art gig doing a monthly comic strip for a local carrier newspaper paying $75.00 a month. This was my first taste of making money by creating art, and I was hooked. By my senior year in high school I had created many award winning designs, including several blue ribbon scholastic art awards, as well as first place in a Michigan wildlife fund poster competition. I went on to continue my education in Detroit at the Center for Creative Studies and Wayne State University, studying both commercial and fine arts. In 1989, I forged out on my own and started a one-man design business called Art Machine, with a focus on providing personal attention and high quality design and illustration to my clients.
